Line cooks are responsible for all areas of food preparation.
Responsibilities include ingredient preparation, inventory management, and operation of various kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, fryers, etc.
Line cooks must withstand the pressure and strain of working in close quarters, standing for hours at a time, lifting heavy pots and kettles, and working near hot ovens and grills.
They must be able to work quickly and competently, as well as prepare several orders at once.
